A Patient Experience

"I never Expected..."

Published by Physio Flows LLC on 2024-03-13 20:17:00

An abstract and very colorful woman stepping into bliss her therapy worked

Physio Flows has taught me so much about myself and my body.

How did I not realize that I needed this sooner?

Yearning for more control, I concentrate on muscles that I never knew existed.

Slowly and with patience, my strength grows and my stability improves.

Inspired awareness permeates every aspect of my world.

Once conscious efforts meld into subconscious habits.

Feeling more confident in myself because I am learning what I can do.

Letting myself take time to do it right, a new self care rooted in motion.

Occasionally I struggle, and the strategy changes, adjustments personalized to my body.

Worth every cent and second of my time, an investment in physical care.

Solid determination for continued progress inspires me to take on new challenges.

I never expected that physical therapy could touch so many aspects of my life. It’s more than just doing a few exercises or having a session with Coryn.

Physical therapy has changed how I interact with my environment. I’m more mindful and intentional in my movements. If I do something on one side, then I try to mirror it on the other side of my body to maintain balance in my muscles. My furniture is ergonomic, with a sit to stand desk and an anti-fatigue mat to stand on while I wash dishes. My awareness is heightened, so that when I’m spending time with friends and family, I’m even noticing their bad posture.

I actually told my mom to drop her shoulders down when she was cooking Christmas dinner, because I’ve learned tidbits about better body mechanics. I find it fascinating, annoying, overwhelming, useful, and impactful to have Coryn as my Physical Therapist. I am always grateful for her expertise, especially as she listens and lets me ask questions… a lot of questions. I have learned about muscle groups that I never knew existed, and which are weak in my body. This knowledge and Coryn’s guidance in building strength give me a newfound confidence in everything I do because I am learning to strengthen and trust my body.

I used to think physical therapy was a medical necessity for people with specific circumstances such as an injury. Now I know better. Physical therapy is a nuanced service that anyone can benefit from, and which is underestimated in impact.

I look forward to continued care and progress with Physio Flows!
